Content is cached, eg "ls -l" is showing wrong files

When I connect with ssh to a second device, Terminator is showing me incorrect data.
E.g. "ls -l" in a directory is showing a previous result, while the "normal" Ubuntu Terminal shows me the correct file listing...
What is going wrong? How can I fix this?
