I'd like to suggest a plugin that will pop up an alert if a session becomes idle for, say, 10 seconds (configurable). I'd have a go at this myself but I don't know Python. Is it possible to write plugins in Perl?

It's currently only possible to create python plugins and I've linked this question to the bug which is tracking the implementation of activity/silence watching plugins. Activity is done, silence is not yet :)
