Line Spacing

Asked by Got Slack

Is it possible to alter the one pixel (I think) line spacing, perhaps even remove it?

Line spacing? Literally between the lines in the terminal widget itself? If so, I don't believe VTE offers a way to customise that.

I guess it is time to get into VTE and hack it directly. Another thing I wanted to do with a new terminal emulator was squeeze one more pixel on my display. I'm 1920 pixels wide, but it gives me 239 columns with an 8 pixel wide font. I want 240 columns. Gnome-terminal gave me 239. I tried Terminator hoping to get 240. But I guess VTE is the culprit.

There should be separate border and gutter settings to do text cell renders. Border 0 and gutter 1 should be tight. But I have no idea about VTE.

I suppose you're already using a window manager that can show your terminal without borders? That might be just enough to squeeze out an extra character.

Can you help with this problem?
