Horizontal/Vertical zoom of the current window

Asked by Nikhil Kale on 2010-05-10

Currently, one can use Ctrl+Shift+Z to toggle between showing all terminals and only showing a scaled version of the current one. I was wondering is there a way to control the zoom ? For e.g.

1. vertical zoom: where the current terminal would end up taking all the vertical space
2. horizontal zoom: current terminal takes up all the horizontal space of the terminal window

I think this feature would be quite useful, as many times I would like to zoom the current terminal to be able to see more, but at the same time, would like to see the information in the other split windows. The current zoom functionality zooms the current terminal to the entire window blocking the other views.

Thanks!

Nikhil: While I'm happy to have a wishlist bug filed about this, I'm not sure it's something I'm likely to work on in the foreseeable future.
