cannot setup Telegram after deleting and reinstalling on M10

I deleted Telegram from my M10 but when I tried to resintall it I cannot get it reinitialised. I tried deleting all files and directories with the word 'Telegram' in them (as per another launchpad solution), but I can't get it to work.

It sends me a code but when I type it in nothing happens and the counter continues. Once the timer finishes its countdown, it offers to resend the code or call me. If I select the 'request call' option it says it is calling but no call is received.

Is there some other cache or file that I need to delete in order to get it to work again?
