Question regarding retrying the job externally by using the same data from the persistence

I'm using Job Board with Redis and Conductors to handle the jobs. When the job fails, the conductor simply abandons the job and later the job can be deleted. But what I'm trying to do is to change some part of the data with which the job was called and run the same job again with the updated data. Is that possible? I'm not able to get any information on this in the documentation.

Any help or direction will be deeply appreciated. I like TaskFlow and my organization is evaluating task flow for it's requirements where this happens to be a big one. May be our approach is inconsistent with how Job Boards in task flow work, so I'd be glad to hear about any different approach which can result in the same results we are hoping to achieve.
