task coach slow (big file, some 100 tasks)

Asked by horia

I have a big file, about 100 tasks, and it works fine, except I am editing efforts. In that case, the soft reacts very slow (some seconds to wait for every hours or minutes change that I do to an effort.
I discovered that it becomes very fast (almost no lag) if I uncheck the "save after every change" option in the preferences of taskcoach.

Is there any other workaround?
Should I make small files, separately, for each 10 tasks (for example) ?

thanks and keep up the good work! (If I would have some spare time, I would propose to you a graphic revamping...)

The only workaround would be indeed to "Save selected tasks to new taskfile" to make the list smaller or turn off save after every change.

Clearly, the better solution (besides optimizing the code for speed), would be to implement a "save ever X minutes" option (which I would personally love as I have lost work because of keeping the every-change save off because of my own slow-downs.

thanks for your reply! interesting to know that it happens to you too. Yes, a "save every X minutes" would be a fine intermediate solution!
