Assign resources. apply how much time a resource can work on a task

Hi. So far I'm really happy with the product. However, I have one essential need that will either make or break me on task-coach. I need to assign resources to tasks. Example: I have a task called monitoring: I have two resources. In total the task will take 8hrs. I want to assign resource #1 can work 7hrs a day and resource #2 can work 5hrs a day. Would LUV, if I could assign the task and the task coach tool breaks down the hours and reassigns duration dates based on resources availability to a given task and could recalculates completion date. I do a similar way in MS Project, but MS is heavy and gets complicated. Task-coach is easy to use and I foresee myself using it on my iphone. I am a google mail, docs user.

I see you posted a uservoice request already. That's helpful, and I made a comment there asking for more clarity. I can tell you that aside from existing budgeting, the particular use case you are talking about is far from top priority, so it won't be done soon. However, Task Coach is Free/Libre Open Source Software! You could hire a Python developer to implement the feature you want and submit it to us as a patch. It would be a help to the community. This is the sort of thing that is possible when software is free-as-in-freedom.
