ALL TASKS FOR THE WEEK

Asked by Joy Gastelum

I have a Task set up for each project I work on and then sub-tasks for all the different things I do for that project. I work on many project through the week. At the end of the week is there a way without having to open each and every project, to print an effort report for the entire week, showing all of the tasks and sub-tasks I worked on for that week?

how do i add an attachment so you can see the task i have set up?

Open the effort viewer and put it in weekly mode (using the drop down on the effort viewer toolbar). That will show the effort summed per week. If you also want to see the effort per day of the week, right click a column header in the effort viewer and select "Effort per weekday". This shows all the effort records (not just the last week) so you may want to export this view to CSV (comma-separated format) and import it in Excel for further processing.

I don't understand your last question.

Frank-

That's great for one project at a time. But let's say I worked on 25 different projects (each with 10+ sub-tasks) in a week and I cannot remember all that I worked on. Friday afternoon comes and it's time to run a report for time sheets. Are you saying I have to open each and every "Project" to see the summed effort? Can I combine all of my "Projects" into one task list? When I try to merge it seems you can only merge two .tsk files.

My last question refers to trying to send you an attachment thru this forum so you can see how I have my tasks set up.

Thank you for responding so quickly!

Hi Joy,

No I'm not saying you have to open each and every task. You have to open an effort viewer (using the View->New viewer->Effort menu item) and follow my instructions in the first answer. That effort viewer will show effort for all tasks.

Wrt attachments: I don't think attachments are allowed here.

Can you help with this problem?
