If there is no SyncML option on the features tab of the settings dialog it may mean that SyncML is not supported for your platform. Which platform are you on?

the FAQ entry doesn't help, as the link it refers to seems to be dead. Is pysyncml no longer available?

The whole topic of lack of support for Android is really a shame, because I love Task Coach, but will have to drop it if I can't get it to synch with Android.

Gina Trapani's solution doesn't work either, as Task Coach doesn't appear to export categories (no "+category" tags in the files Task Coach exports).

Looks like the open-source part of Funambol moved to SourceForge and I wasn't even notified, so the project is offline now. Good thing I still have a local checkout. I'll host it somewhere else ASAP and update this entry when it's available again.

BTW, pysyncml doesn't work with myFunambol right now; the only "supported" platform is MemoToo AFAIK.

Thanks for the rapid reply! I fully respect your prerogative to choose which platforms to support and develop for. Similarly, I have to choose which apps support my needs. Therefore, in response to the frustration which led me to post the above, in the last four hours I have abandoned Task Coach for Wunderlist, which has installed, functioned, and synced beautifully on both Linux and Android. If Task Coach ever fully supports those two platforms, I'll be happy to give it a try again.

See you then. Well, maybe, Android support is still not on te radar :)

So is there currently any way to sync two Task Coach instances running on different computers other than offline synchronization? I have installed the python-pysyncml package, but there is still no SyncML option. I'm using version 1.3.20 on ubuntu quantal.

There is currently NO WAY AT ALL to open the same .tsk file while two instances of the program are running simultaneously. It is planned for the next major update which has no set release date (although we expect many minor updates first). The only syncing right now of concurrently running programs is between a single desktop version and the iOS version. In all syncing between desktop versions, one instant must quit before the other can be opened.

So given this situation, any syncing works. You can use any cloud syncing service, for example, to make sure that the files are matched automatically on multiple desktops. But there is a lock feature that prevents the file from being opened if it isn't first closed on the other dekstop.

Can you help with this problem?
