copying database to other computer

Asked by v_andal

Hello!

I've used your program on windows machine, now I want to copy the study list from this machine to linux one. Is this possible?

The program is good. Especially I like the booklet printing! :) Actually, it would be perfect if it would be possible to find kanji by skip code or by bushu radical :)

Yes, it is. Just a little bit awkward at the moment. Under windows, look for a file named "user.db" in your home or profile directory (using the windows search function, that should be easy). You need to transfer it to the ".local/share/data/tagainijisho/" directory within your home directory in Linux (should already exist if you ever started Tagaini on Linux before).

Actually an import/export option that does this would be very easy to implement. I'll do it for 0.2.1. In the more distant future, we may also expect network synchronization. ;)

Ah, about the kanji lookup by skip code or radical, this will also be done, probably in a later version though.

Ok. Thank you, worked perfectly :) I think this is simple enough, the only thing that might be added is the reporting of the location of the database. But again, it's not that important.

Well, anyway I've added the import/export option for personal data.
Finding the right directories can be a pain. Thanks for your
suggestion!
