Update systemback

Asked by utente2015

Why do not you release a minor update to allow us to use the program with the recent Linux operating systems?
I hope that at least in this you want to be satisfied.

I was planned a bigger update with various improvements (including a rewritten source code). But then I realized that I did not have so much spare time. The Systemback was a hobby for me, but now would be just a work. So originally I develop the program only for me, because fun. But the fun factor is over, and I just using some Bash scripts for the system update, backup and restore.
I know that there are several problem in the latest Systemback version. But I do not think that I will continue the maintenance.
Plus the most used function was the Live image creation (and the system installation). But personally, this was not my primary goal.

I understand that this program takes time and attention to be manned. You also have a beautiful community around you. The choice remains to you. Do not keep the code and answer the questions without solutions leaves us very disappointed. Now do not release new versions for a long time.
I tried to look at the code but objectively I can not go beyond the translation of the texts and beta testing. You should try to share the code writing with those who have the best in the community. Everyone could develop a part and perhaps leave you more supervision and more complex parts. The load would decrease. Otherwise, reduce functionality to the most successful ones such as backup and restore and others that substantially reduce the complexity of the program. Solutions can be found. It's up to you to choose. Keep doing so is just a long agony. Waiting for the new version to arrive is not good because you do not make a precise choice. I hope that your enthusiasm for Systemback will resurface and finally we will have this new version perhaps more compact but finally updated.

Excuse me, why would you like to rewrite the program source code?

Because why not? :-)
The source code has been rewritten several times in the past (because the programming language and the structure of the program). But now, I wanted a simpler code with a better GUI. So maybe the unique C++ engine would be unnecessary, and would be great a better design for the graphical content. And I wanted some other improvements as well, there were some ideas in my mind...

It depends on you. Is the egg better today or the hen tomorrow? :)

Can you help with this problem?
