Boot error : initramfs

Asked by rando

I'm trying to boot from a SB Live USB Live from LinuxMint 18 Cinnamon 64-bit running the 4.4.0-24-generic kernel. Systemback 1.8.402~ubuntu16.04.1 created the .sblive with no problem. It ended up being 1.9 GB, so I had to use the .sblive file (not an .iso) to create the USB Live System. When I boot from the USB, it starts on the Systemback splash page. But when I select any of the 4 options it fails with:

BusyBox v1.22.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.22.0-15ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

(initramfs) /com format specified as aufs and no support found

casper 1.376 is installed
union=overlay does not solve the problem.

What to do ? Thank you in advance

I never tested yet (the Mint 18), but I think this should be an incompatible (because the Ubuntu is running fine) between newer Casper and Linux Mint. Started with Casper version 1.340.2 on Linux Mint 17.
I will try to find a good solution, but if you want a workaround, try to install the live-boot package and remove the casper. The live-boot is a Debian solution, and the Systemback support it. So try to create a new Live image, and if you can, please report back.

The workaround, try to install the live-boot package and remove the casper solves the problem. Live operation and installation on another computer works perfectly. What a joy to regain its configuration, its programs and documents!
The only question I ask myself is whether casper will not miss it for other things?
Thank you again for your help
