install from a Systemback usb live (AV Linux 2016)

Asked by stratojaune

Hi,

I like to install AV Linux 2016, a Debian-Ubuntu fork made with Systemback on my system, AND keep everything but the .config dirs in the /home directory from the last AV Linux.

Have asked to the AV Linux team, which said it could be possible but not tested in AV Linux yet.

Have searched a while on www, but can't find anything...

Maybe you can point to a link or anything?

To make a long story short:
how format root partition, and install on it a system from a Systemback usb live, AND keep an old home partition?

Thanks,
Fred

If you uncheck the "Transfer user configuration and data files" checkbox, then the Systemback copies only the /etc/skel files from the Live image. If you do not format the /home partition, then the other files and dirs in the target user home directory are untouched. Maybe this is a good solution for you. Just check the /etc/skel dir on the Live system.

Can you help with this problem?
