Cannot install using partitions /boot, / and SWAP

Asked by c.monty

Hello!

I want to restore from ISO, but the tool doesn't accept the partition layout:
/dev/sda1 Linux
/dev/sda2 Extended
/dev/sda5 Linux
/dev/sda6 Linux

In the tool I can define
/dev/sda5 / ext4
/dev/sda6 SWAP
but I cannot define /dev/sda1 as boot partition.

I have created a screenshot to document this.

Question:
How can I fix this problem?

THX

Yes, because the /dev/sda1 partition is smaller than 256 MiB. Only the /boot/efi accepts the smaller partitions. This is because the btrfs filesystem...

Hm...
I have neither btrfs filesystem nor efi, why should I then define a boot partition of size > 256MB that is not needed to get a running system.
Any live installer allows to setup of boot partition = 100MB.

The btrfs filesystem does not work if the partition is too small. But anyway, the separate /boot partition is unnecessary. The kernel is loadable from all supported filesystems (including btrfs).

Can you help with this problem?
