Starting systemback fails: Please do not use 'sudo' command

Asked by c.monty on 2015-02-20

Hi,

I have successfully installed systemback on Debian 7.
However, I cannot launch the application.
When I start it from CLI with command "systemback", I get a popup saying:
"Root privileges are required running Systemback!"

When I enter command "sudo systemback", I get error message:
Unsafe X window authentication!
Please do not use 'sudo' command.

Question:
How should I start the application?

THX

Please do not use Systemback 1.0+ on Debian 7. This version is not supported by Systemback. Use Debian 8 or old Systemback (0.7.7).

And use 'gksu' to start the GUI applications, or use
/usr/lib/systemback/sbsustart systemback
command for Systemback.

Man!
This is fast, competent and forward-looking... perfect support!

I just needed to modify my starter using gksudo, then I can utilize the tool.
