The GRUB installation is allowed if any of the following are met:

- System is booted in UEFI mode, grub2-common and grub-efi-amd64-bin packages are installed on the source system and the '/boot/efi' mount point is set.

- System is booted in BIOS compatible mode and grub2-common and grub-pc-bin packages are installed on the source system.

- System is booted in UEFI or BIOS compatible mode, grub2-common, grub-efi-amd64-bin and grub-pc-bin packages are installed on the source system and if necessary the '/boot/efi' mount point is set.

I did the live cd on a system without UEFI for machines that do not have it, everything works perfect but the grub installation option is disabled in the installer, another bootloader i can use,be compatible with systemback

So the option is disabled because the grub2-common and/or grub-pc-bin are not installed on the source system. Sorry, but Systemback is not compatible with other bootloaders. If you want, just install these packages on source system and create Live image again.

Hi Sirs,
sorry if I append to this question mine...but I have more or less the same issue, I did my ISO systemback starting on an old legacy bios computer and the installer don't write nothing in /sda2/boot/efi !!!

Kendek after reading your answer #1 and #4, according to this:

Can I force and do:
"sudo apt-get install grub2-common and grub-efi-amd64-bin"
on my installed linux mint on a PC without UEFI??? OF this break the grub/boot of this PC??

OR it works anyway so I can do a new ISO Systemback as you suggested, to be used to install the my system in a new UEFI or/and LEGACY BIOS???

thanks in advance.

The /boot/efi is only necessary with UEFI. The BIOS (or the EFI with active Compatibility Support Module) will not use the .efi files.
