Computer & password stays same when installed from live

Asked by C4C

First, I am attempting to use Systemback in much the same way I've used the "dist" function in Remastersys --> OS4SystemImage --> Black Lab Image Creator. So, it may be that I'm trying to use Systemback for something other than for what it was intended (and if that's the case, I apologize). It also may be that I am trying to use Systemback and/or the Ubiquity bootloader incorrectly.

I've successfully created many a live iso with Systemback running Lubuntu 14.10. And installation of the live system using Ubiquity (Install RELEASE) works well to install the live system to disk. However, the computer name and password remains what it is on the machine I made the iso on. I have everything the way I'd like it in the Home Folder (as Systemback doesn't seem to use skel) and after hitting the "Live system create" button I check the box to include user data files.

Running live from the Systemback created iso (DVD or USB Flash drive) shows the computer name and takes the password of the computer used to make the iso. When installing from the iso via Install RELEASE; the "Identity" drop-down menu also shows the (original) computer name as it's only selection and takes the password of that original machine to run. During installation, Ubiquity takes a new computer name, username and password as if the installed system is going to use them.

However, the computer name of the installed system remains the same as the one used to create the live system, the new username is added to it and the new password is completely ignored (as far as I can tell). So, for example, in LXTerminal on the installed system the prompt shows originalcomputername@newusername:~$ and will only accept the password from the original computer (the one used to make the iso). I would like all these things to be chosen anew by the person who fills out the text boxes in the Ubiquity bootloader.

Any ideas?

Systemback does not support this 'dist' function (like Remastersys), as it is a backup and restore utility. But Live creation is supported with current users and settings.
Systemback uses the '/etc/skel' directory at install time, when the "Transfer user configuration files" checkbox is not checked (copy default files and directories).
The Ubiquity installer is not supported by Systemback (absolutely not). Systemback has an own system installer (new names, passwords, partitions, etc.). This is the only sure way to install the system.
