Red-highlighted Restore Points are overwritten at next press of 'Create new' button

Asked by RonCam

The Summary says it all.

The Function Menu options don't change when this happens.

But I'm reluctant to use a Restore Point that shows this behavior. Doesn't 'Red' sometimes mean 'Danger' or 'Corrupt"?

Please let us know so we don't worry!!

If you create a new restore point, the red ones are removed automatically (so they are marked for deletion). The radio buttons indicate the maximum number of temporary restore points (3-10 temporary points plus highlighted).

I see -- that's a warning that the red-labeled restore point is about to be deleted when the utiliity is next used.

Question: if one were to wish to keep the red-hightlighted Restore Point, is there anything that could be done, by the user?

I'm thinking about the Microsoft OS's System Restore, where one is able to increase the amount of disk space allocated to restore points. The similarity ends there because, as any Windows user knows, the Restore Points in that OS can suddenly disappear, with no warning at all. At least, displaying a red hightlight in Systemback is a welcome 'step-up' from this type of behavior.

Up to 10 temporary restore points exist in the storage directory. The last (red) is automatically removed when a new one is created. If you want to keep one, it should be highlighted. The highlighted restore points (max 5 in one storage directory) are not removed automatically.
