Scanner for ubuntu 7.1

Hi, I now have my system 76 unit running and printing. What scanner will work with 7.1 right out of the box. What scanner has drivers included in 7.1?

We don't keep a list of all printers and scanners that will work with any given version of Ubuntu. However, there is a resource out there that may be useful.

...you can find links to the open printing database. It has a list of printers (many of them all-in-one units that have scanners built in) that will work with the CUPS printing system, which Ubuntu uses.

I've personally had great luck with the Epson Stylus CX5400. Epson and HP are generally good choices under Linux.

Also, you might want to find a printer that you like and Google "Ubuntu + <printer model#> and see if other Ubuntu users have reported on it. Generally, for any printer that has been out for over a month, there will be numerous posts about it.
