Totem Movie Player problem

My Totem movie player does not function and regularly forces a close down. I have tried to delete it but am told this can be done only using SYNAPTIC PACKAGE MANAGER. This is beyond my knowledge. Help will be much appreciated.

synaptic is the default package manager for Ubuntu. You can find it under the menu System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager

Synaptic is very simple to use (search, mark, apply) and you can find some instructions on the manual help accessed through the upper bar (Installing, Removing and Updating Application). It would be nice to find out why you are experiencing this problem with Totem because it should not be happening. Instead of that, you can install another video player also with synaptic.

Totem was removed according to the reply. Another Movie player was installed, which works well. Very happy with the result.
