Shortcut ctrl+space not working (Ubuntu 18.04/Gnome 3)

Dear Synapse Team,
I recently updated my system to Ubuntu 18.04 with Gnome 3 and wanted to use Synapse (which is great!). But: the CTRL + SPACE keybinding does not work. When I press the combination of keys, nothing hapens. I expect Synapse to open.
I allready disabled another shortcut (IBus), but that didn't help.
