Recent used files not on top of the list

Asked by tellapu

Hi there!

So far I was very excited about synapse and I use it all the time. But since a few weeks the recent used files would not show. There would not even be a suggestion, so I have to press "enter" to start a search to get any results. The search result list is not (as before) ordered with the most recent used ones on the top. I have not changed anything in Synapse.
One thing that might be related is the update of the recoll index (Recoll 1.15.9 + Xapian 1.2.5). Might that be related?
Any other tips?

Thanks!

Xapian 1.2.5 might be the problem.

You should try to:
- Close Synaspe
- Start Synapse from terminal

And paste here any error :)

I'm afraid that the Zeitgeist FTS Extension Xapian is corrupted.
I linked this question to an existing bug.
Take a look at the first comment on that bug :)

Thanks Alberto!

I did as suggested:
"Seems like your search index got corrupted somehow, to fix it open a
terminal and run these commands:
zeitgeist-daemon --quit
cd ~/.local/share/zeitgeist/
rm -rvf fts.index/
zeitgeist-daemon &
Afterwards your database will be reindexed, wait a while for this to
happen (there'll be lots of output in the terminal) and then try again."

And it is working again. I will see if xapian will be mess it up again.

Thanks again for the quick responses!
