Should thumbnails of all images/videos show up?

Asked by Cavia Porcellus

Of late Synapse has stopped showing any thumbnails for images or videos. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
Actually, I'm unsure what the default behavior is even supposed to be, as before this change I could only see the thumbnails for the most frequently opened pictures and movies (which seems odd to me, but perhaps that was done for particular reason?).
Thanks for any help...

Synapse uses standard system services to load the thumbnails, if your system prunes the thumbnail cache, it won't try to generate the thumbnails itself.

Hm. My thumbnails might have been deleted at some point, but new ones have certainly long since been created. If I reopen a specific picture, sure enough, that one thumbnail starts appearing in Synapse again. Perhaps Zeitgeist doesn't manage to associate the image with the new thumbnail.
