How to point to icon theme?

Asked by benjamin

Hi,
some applications do not show up on synapse using the current icon theme. I have some svg icons in my icon theme folder which synapse does not pick up, but use a low res xpm icon located in /usr/share/pixmaps. What can be done about it?

Thanks

Synapse uses standard Gtk functions to work with the icon theme, if Gtk sees your icons, Synapse should as well.

the source of the problem were desktop files pointing to specific icons rather than generic names, icon atribute in desktop file can be edited to point to a generic program name, which will be picked from the current icon theme by GTK and hence by Synapse.
