activate synapse with one single key

is it possible to activate synapse with the super_L key or the Menu (that i don't use) for example? when I try with menu key it appears an error. with the Super key nothung appears.

This is more of a question to GtkHotkey, as we use that for the global hotkey, but I don't think it supports that.

Unity's Dash appears with a single press of the Windows key - how does it accomplish this? I first found Synapse today searching for "Unity Dash replacement", and this is the only piece missing.
