I just learned about Synapse here:

Do you have a website? Project page? Wiki? Mailing-list?

I'd be interested in writing plugins. Is there a guide on how to do it?

There's no website/wiki atm. Everything synapse-related is currently here on launchpad (roadmap, bugs, translations, questions). Mailing list will be soon available on <email address hidden>.
