Lock Screen?
If I start typing "shut down" "restart" etc, I am given an option to shut down and restart, if I start typing "lock screen" I am never given the option to lock the screen. Does this option exist yet?

Gnome Session plugin is installed which would help you accomplish this. The plugin is enabled by default so, just type shut down, log out..... and you would be given option to do so.

AFAIK locking screen is enabled by gnome-screensaver, and we don't have a gnome-screensaver plugin yet. Still, pressing Ctrl+Alt+L seems faster :)

WIN + L is even faster..(needs just two fingers of one hand)

This has actually been implemented in the latest Synapse available in the PPA. Just type "lock" and it should show up.
Can you help with this problem?
