Is Synapse the official successor to Do?

Greetings!

I wonder if you, the developers, would be kind enough to clarify whether or not Synapse is intended as the *official* successor for Do. It's certainly being touted as a replacement to Do, whose development seems to have fallen by the way of late, but it's not clear if that makes Synapse the *official* successor (the much lusted after Do2).

No, we're a separate project inspired by Do's interface, but source code-wise Synapse and Do have nothing in common.

Can you help with this problem?
