Bulgarian Traditional Phonetic is missing in settings

Asked by yordan valkov

Hello guys,

I've just installed Freya and am really happy with it so far but there is an issue which is quite frustrating: the missing of Bulgarian Traditional Phonetic in language and regional settings.
During the installation I chose the layout to be installed but afterwards it wasn't there to be applied.
Now I can switch between En and Bg but when on Bg the keyboard doesn't correspond to the Bg Phonetic layout.

I searched for solution and found that there is a similar problem with Russian, too. Is there a workaround or even better - a solution to that because I really would like to keep it with elementary os.

Thank you and please, if going to reply be patient and detailed as I am not much of a tech savvy. :)

Ok, reinstalled the OS and during installation I chose Bulgarian phonetic as a keyboard layout instead of English US. That made it possible to switch between diff. keyboard layouts. However, in Settings, later on, if I choose English US as a preferred system language, again the Bulgarian phonetic option disappears.
So, now I have login screen partially in Bulgarian (day and date) and system is in English but still have the option to use the BG keyboard layout of my preference.
One more thing to mention: changing the keyboard shortcuts for switching between the layouts seems a bit ugly if however possible.
