Appearance Plug disappeared from Switchboard

Since the last time I installed updates the appearance plug has vanished. I'm not sure how, I have done installed or uninstalled anything in a while, but I just noticed today it is gone, it was there yesterday. The only thing I've done since then is reboot the computer. Any ideas on how to get it working again?

It was renamed to Desktop.

Desktop is not there either! Under the Personal section the only thing I have is "Brightness and Lock" "Defaults" "Language Support" "Privacy" and "Startup Applications"

Try to reinstall the switchboard packages in the Software Center.
