A Direct-attached storage and a good server for a Swift cloud

HI all,

    We have a small swift cloud that has 5 zones. These zones have Dell Powedge R210II servers Now, we are planning to increase the storage capacity of our cloud. Our doubt is: how would swift work if we add a Direct Attach Storage (DAS) to one of the servers. Is this ok or would this increase the latency too much.

     If a DAS is not good, how would swift behave if we a 4 disk server as HP ProLiant DL320 G6 Server (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/15351-15351-3328412-241644-241475-3929672.html?dnr=1)

In general, there's nothing wrong with using a DAS for storage, assuming it
has a fast enough interface. You'll need to make sure you have enough CPU
and networking for the new number of drives. I think what we have
documented for reference is a 24 drive machine with 8 cores and a single
GigE network interface, so something close to those ratios, should be
good (informed by your current CPU and network usage).
