Swift has some builtin support for sending events to statsd:

http://docs.openstack.org/developer/swift/admin_guide.html#reporting-metrics-to-statsd

If you've never used statsd before you might want to take a peek at: http://codeascraft.etsy.com/2011/02/15/measure-anything-measure-everything/

Theres also a ZenPack available for monitoring/graphing some stats with Zenoss although I'm not sure how current it is: https://github.com/zenoss/ZenPacks.zenoss.OpenStackSwift

Theres also some scripts to monitor Swift with Ganglia and Nagios but I can't speak to those as I've never used them.

As for the the drive-audit script, its meant to be run as a cronjob. If it detects a failed storage drive it will unmount the drive. You can query for unmounted drives in the system with swift-recon.

Can you help with this problem?
