How swift log events

Asked by Karl Williams

Hello,

reading the documentation (http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/openstack-object-storage/admin/content/ch_introduction-to-openstack-object-storage-monitoring.html, http://swift.openstack.org/admin_guide.html) I have found some ways that swift provides to obtain statistical data from proxies and object nodes. As I understand these data can be obtained when we require (eg: swift-dispersion-report tool) and can also be sent metrics to a server statsD. I'm not sure if the Swift maintains a log file (with, for example, date, name of performed operations ...) of the requested operations to the proxy server and also the operations performed by the server objects. Someone could help me clarify this?

If theres one thing Swift has its plenty of logs.

Take a peek in /var/log/swift or wherever you've configured logging in your installation.
