Where is the SugarCRM package

Asked by James Blackwell

I am able to find tarballs of SugarCRM quite easily. What I haven't been able to find, though, is a ubuntu deb of SugarCRM. Googling about indicates that there was/is some sort of partnership between sugar and Ubuntu.

Is there to be a SugarCRM package?

I don't believe it's in any of the Gutsy repositories (or on any other). You can fill a bug on the launchpad asking for it to be included on the universe repository. Make sure to place the source url for downloads.

I suppose packaging sugarcrm is beneficial to users in the same way that any piece of software is packaged for a distro. Common selling points include the automatic management of upgrades, notification of new versions, ease of locating software.

The current stable release is at http://www.sugarforge.org/frs/download.php/3822/SugarCE-5.0.0b.zip

You must open a bug for Ubuntu on the Launchpad. Copy your last answer to the bug. Add the tag [needs-packaging] on the title of your bug report. Click on this link and fill the bug: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+filebug

Can you help with this problem?
