search for subtitle from movie name

Asked by spirov on 2008-12-12

Hi I would like to know how to download subtitles given a movie name (ex: "jaws") (or at the very least a IMDB ID), using the command line, WITHOUT providing a video file name.

everything I found so far seems to require a filename.avi or some hash.

I don't care whether timing info will be slightly off with the video I'll use it from.

alternatively, if no such tool exists, is there a way download a portion (even small) of the database ? (although I doubt it...)

Hi.

Unfortunately, you can't get subtitles from movie name only, yet, sure is something i thought about including on CLI.
Probably we'll include it on the next release.

Thanks ;)
