How to port to another distribution

Hi,
I would like to use command line version of the tool on Raspbian Linux. I downloaded the code, extracted it and run, but it did not find any video. I am sure there must be some other packages/libraries installed, but I have no idea how to proceed. Any pointers please ?

The obstacle for me is in metadata.parse which I think should be normally overrriden by some other method. But that is just my assumption, I don't know Python at all.
