Win XP only partial launch

In a Win XP SP3 system with 1 GB RAM, 0.10.2 won't launch properly. No words show on the bottom or left side. There are no stars. I can get constellations, constellation names, the sun, constellation drawings, azimuth etc. lines, making the ground disappear, speeding up the movement, but no stars and no words on the bottom and left side. I get rectangles for letters in these areas. I have installed 0.10.2 into another Win XP system (SP2 with 2 GB RAM) and it works just fine.

Could you please provide some information about your graphics card model?

For a start, you can try updating your graphics card driver to the latest version available from its manufacturer's website (not through Windows update).

This is a Fry's Electronics computer with a Via/S3 graphics card, and the drivers for card were able to be updated. When I updated the drivers, lo and behold! the planetarium worked fine! Problem completely solved. In fact, we got the planetarium to relocate to Long Beach, California, about 3 miles away, so it is in excellent shape.
