connecting a telescope to MacBook Pro

Hi, i have a Celestron 127slt with skysense auto align and I'm trying to connect it to my MacBook Pro with thunderbolt ports.
As skysense hand controller has got a mini USB port and my MacBook thunderbolt ports I do not know how to do it.
Can I use normal mini usb to usb cable and usb to thunderbolt??
