Windows shuts down, says problem.

Asked by Hal Richardson

I have had 16.1 for a long time. I love it. Recently windows comes on the screen and says problem and shuts it down. I uninstalled 2 times and reloaded both 16.1 and 17, but after a moment of running, same thing. Is there anyone else having this problem? Fix?

I have windows 8.1. Originally, I had version 16.1 and it worked fine for many years. Then after startup, a windows screen pops up that says "Stellarium has stopped working. Windows is closing the program."

I am not a computer genius, and was looking for help and not ridicule.

I uninstalled Stellarium, and loaded the 17 version. After the start up, again the same thing. I uninstalled version 17 and re-installed version 16.1. Again after a few moments, the Windows screen pops up and says the same.

I like the program and would like it to work for me. I am not having all of the other problems that are described by you, just this one, and thought you might have an answer. Right now, I have nothing.

If it would not be too much trouble, how do I obtain that log file?
