Downloading additional star catalogs hangs?

Under configuration/tools/ star catalog updates Stellarium screen shows dialog box "Get catalog 8 of 9" and outside the dialog box the screen displays "downloading stars7..." and just stays there with no activity on the network. Is this due to the downloads being very slow and typical or is there some other issue? I can download the files very quickly but the catalog update within Stellarium 16.1 seems hung.

O/S is Windows 10 64-bit version 1709.

This is bug in version 0.16.1 (it fixed already in latest beta's)
