Want to lock onto a position in the sky while time passes.

Asked by Tom Meeker on 2017-03-23

Love the program. I have version 0.14.2. What I'd like to do is lock onto a particular position in the sky, say a particular constellation, and then have time pass, showing the motion of the planets, moon, sun, etc. without the sky or the stars moving. I'd like to be able to jump time by hours, days, months, years, centuries or millennia without the position of the stars or constellations moving. This allows me to see the motion of the planets, sun, moon, etc. in relation to a fixed point in the sky. I've had other star programs that did this in the past but can't seem to find where this is possible in Stellarium. If it is, how do I do it? If it isn't, this would be a very nice feature.
