Better quality textures doesn't work. Is it intended?

Hi. I wanted to make earth's texture more resolution. Is it even possible? I was changing edited image to .PNG format but always when I did it, whole earth was black. Is it intended or bug? In older stellarium's version I was able to change the texture to better.

Yes, it's possible. Please check dimensions of texture - your graphics card may have limitations.

The dimensions were probably ok because height was 2x smaller than width
