reading encoder output ticks

Asked by Jay Smith on 2017-02-28

I would like to add encoders with a micro controller Arduino/Teensy/TI msp430 to my old manual C8. I am looking for how Stellarium reads the encoder output ticks.

I have read through the scope control instructions and found the reference where Stellarium can only slew to an area and read the location. I am only interested in reading my scope position.

I do not have a GOTO mount and don't really want one but I would realy like to read my scope position and have Stellarium follow as digital setting circles. I have not found any discussion that do not pertain to GOTO capability, If I have missed them please point me in the right direction.

Is this possible.

Jay

Please see the manual about third-party telescope projects. Arduino, Raspberry, it's all there. The creators of such projects have their own websites. Google for them.

Build a project, publish it, document it, and if you want, write a chapter for the Users Guide for others. Good Luck!
