Time Zone Plugin Gone in 15.1

Asked by Chaz Hafey

Version 15.0 has the Time Zone plug in included but version 15.1 does not. Why was it removed? Is there a way that on the very next update to include the Time Zone Plugin once again. We use this feature with all of our astronomy classes each semester. Thanks.

Management for time zones was moved into core of planetarium - please see Location window.

P.S. Are you want to use a custom time zones?

First, thanks for the very fast reply to the question. Yes, want to use custom time zone with no daylight time. Looking over the Location window on version 15.1 looks like that may work. Can you point me in the instructions on how to use the custom time zone? Thanks!

Got it! The enable and disable daylight time works great. And using the custom time Zone is straight forward. Thanks for all of the work that all of you do!

At the moment you can choose an existing time zone to use in Location window and this time zone can be not same time zone, as for current location. The main goal the movement a time zone stuff from plugin to core is introduce the location dependant time zones. E.g. set correct time and sky view when user changed location in Stellarium.

The time zone plugin had tool to define a fully custom time zone (SCT) - it's not implemented in new the core yet (seems it was used in very, very specific cases). Other problem for TZP - using a system variables to define time zones - not all operating system give correct work for it. :(

Instructions to use the custom time zone is very simple: just mark checkbox "Use custom time zone" and select time zone. :) Changes will be visible immediate.
