Bandwidth For Multiple Users

Asked by Dennis Klaustermeyer

Hello, we have a class of approximately 25 users who are simultaneously trying to access Stellarium using the Google Chrome extension. When only a handful of users try to access it, it seems to work well. But when the entire class tries to access at the same time, it is very sluggish to the point where it seems to lock up quite a bit. We have a Meraki Enterprise wireless system at our school. I suspect that all 25 users are hitting the same access point. Is this something that is to be expected? Is there a maximum number of users that should be simultaneously trying to access the system on our end? Thank you.

P.S. Why you don't used desktop instance of Stellarium?

Because I would need to install on each computer manually as end users do not have admin/install privileges. We are at a school and have devices locked down.

Thanks. Not overly impressing at version 0.12.4 from yesteryear.
Download 0.15 to a network drive and yes, install as admin user. 25*2min installation time per PC. Then run as regular user. Or search for a portable version.

Can you help with this problem?
