The new Gaia 1 billion star catalog

The new Gaia 1 billion star catalog has been published online: http://gea.esac.esa.int/archive/ .

 I've asked them via online support for a Stellarium catalog file format.

In the mean time, it would be nice if the Stellarium developers could make a conversion tool, or make available for download the converted files having extension *.cat.

Sure. It would be even nicer if somebody can support or even join Stellarium developers and could make a conversion tool, or make available for download the converted files having extension *.cat.
Actually I would welcome a new catalog format which can provide spatial proper motion correction, not just dRA, dDE.
