Increase star's brightness

Asked by Michael Koch

Is it somehow possible to increase the brightness of all stars by 9 magnitudes? I'd like to simulate the sky if the solar system was inside a globular cluster like Omega Centauri.

Yes, it possible. See absolute and relative scales.

I just tested it with version 0.13.2 and did set the absolute and relative brightness to the maximum values (9 and 5).
The stars became much brighter, but no stars are visible in daytime. Theoretically a few stars should be visible, if 9 magnitudes are added.

No, you cannot add stellar magnitudes like that. These settings just make stars larger on screen, when they are visible as governed by atmosphere brightness. And you cannot gradually switch off atmosphere, just completely remove it. Maybe add some blue transparent background onto your landscape then to have impression of "somewhat blue sky"

Can you help with this problem?
