Can't view Earth's orbit

Asked by Zeo

I'm attempting to view Earth's orbit. I know I should be able to view the orbit if I select the planet and have selected "Show Orbit for Selected Planet", but I'm unable to select it by searching for it. When I do, the application simply deselects whatever I selected last. Sometimes, if I have the ground viewable and I zoom out and look at it and click around the middle, I can select the planet. When I do, the orbit does not display. I can select the sun to show all planetary orbits, but can't tell which (if any) of the displayed orbits is for Earth; none appear to pass through my point.

Also note, current viewing location is a point on Earth (Los Angeles)

Orbit for the planet you are standing on is not displayed by design. (And we are actually stuck in discussion whether selecting Earth when standing on Earth makes sense.)

Hah! Okay, I'll view from elsewhere, thanks. (For whatever it's worth, as a user I'm on the side of it making more sense to display info for objects regardless of viewing location, if only because that's one less not-necessarily-intuitive behavior of the program for the user to learn.)
