Mac not communicating with CGEM
While I've read most threads related to issues connecting a Mac to Stellarium, this one is complexing:
Macbook Air (OSX 10.11.3)
CGEM
Stellarium 0.14.3
USB- Serial adapter: PlugableTM Chip PL2303
Under Mac system, USB-Serial Controller D:
Product ID: 0x2303
Vendor ID: 0x067b (Prolific Technology, Inc.)
Version: 4.00
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Prolific Technology Inc.
Location ID: 0x14100000 / 2
Current Available (mA): 1000
Current Required (mA): 100
Extra Operating Current (mA): 0
In Stellarium, configure telescope:
Telescope controlled by: Stellari direct through serial port
Device settings: Serial Port: /dev/cu.usbserial (I presume Stellarium 'sees' the device). I've also checked in Terminal ls /dev* and cu.usbserial is present.
I hit OK, the rainbow disk spins and then the configuration window is still open. I close it.
Now in the Telescopes window, my telescope is "Stopped" When I press Start, nothing happens.
I presume there's no communication between Stellarium and my CGEM mount.
If I go back into Telescope configuration, and under Serial Port, I only see /dev/, not cubs.serial.
In the main Stellarium window, there is no overlapping pointer where the star is suppose to by (by Nester hand controller)
Go to the Slew telescope to Icon and it indicates there are no active devices.
I've downloaded the latest driver from Prolific.
Can anyone solve this mystery?
Thanks!!
Rebooting doesn't work.
